The Daman Municipal Council building is one of the oldest buildings in Daman. It was built for Municipality by the order of the conqueror of Daman, D.C. de Braganca. Even today this 'Public Seante, Noble and Loyal, Provision of 1581' continues to be an institution for local self government.
